A family memoir, but one that would be of interest only to the author's family and friends. Outside of acknowledging a distant cousinship, and a picture of Moe Howard on the cover, there is nothing substantial here for Stooge fans. Loose connections to The Three Stooges are basically comprised of events in the author's life, preceded by a brief introduction referencing a similar topic from one of their films. For example, a three-page story about her childhood dentist is introduced with passing references to MUMMY'S DUMMIES (1948) and THE TOOTH WILL OUT (1951).
From the back cover...
"In her humorous and touching memoir about her multi-generational Jewish family, Judith Groudine Finkel intersperses family lore about her cousins Moe, Shemp and Curly Howard with insights into how their films influenced her."
