This softcover version of "The Three Stooges Scrapbook" was reissued several times between 1983 and 1999. Reissues contained no editorial revisions, other than a handful of updated filmography notations, and recognition of the deaths of Joe Besser in 1988 and Joe DeRita in 1993.
Softcover editions through the 1980s and early 1990s retained the original 1982 hardcover jacket design; in the early 1990s, the front cover was changed.

This is the book that inspired this web site! Back in the early 1990s, and the Internet was getting started, I decided to learn HTML and created my own home page. What else would I base the page on but the Three Stooges, my favorite comedians? I had recently bought the Three Stooges Scrapbook in a bookstore (remember them?) and I was intrigued by the filmography listed in the back. I had never seen a complete (well, it seemed complete, anyway) list of all the Stooges work before, so I decided to replicate it online. Unfortunately, I replicated it too much. Since there were so many films and shorts that I had never seen - or sometimes even heard of - I made the naive mistake of copying the descriptions of all of them from the book without getting permission first, and ending up pissing people off. I had to take my old home page down, but I got contacted by the lawyers (who explained what I'd done wrong) and they offered me a license to re-create my site from scratch. The end result is ThreeStooges.net. So whatever its flaws (and there are a few), this book gets the place of honor in my Stooges book collection. :) Reviewer's Rating: |
