Featuring caricatures of popular film and radio comedians, in 1936 Ingram's Shaving Cream ran an essay contest asking consumers to choose either Ingram's "coolness" or "economy" in the contest theme Which Is More Important to You? The winning entry received a 1st prize of $2500, with ten runner-up awards of $100, and Rubberset shaving brushes for 2000 entrants. The full page ad ran in national magazines such as this issue of "The Saturday Evening Post."
Ted Healy and Jimmy Durante were paired for one of these national, full page ads.
