Self-published filmography and overview of the Joe Besser and Joe DeRita years of The Three Stooges. Occasional historical mistakes. Spelling, typo and grammatical errors abound; e.g. Ted Healy is referenced frequently and his last name is misspelled continuously, and almost every spelling of Joe DeRita's last name in incorrectly typed with a lower case "r."
The author's enthusiasm and good intentions for the subject matter are apparent, but the presentation is lacking and the book is not recommended.
From the back cover...
"The Two Joes is a book about the last 14 years of The Three Stooges. A filmography that chronologically reviews and analyzes in proper order the last 16 two reelers featuring Joe Besser, as well as the last 7 starring movies featuring Curly Joe DeRita. A book that shows how these two Joes breathed a fresh new life into the last years of The Three Stooges. How a classic comedy team was nearly at the end of their ropes, and how two men helped to change all of that. The Two Joes kept the laughter from dying!"
Also available in Kindle. An earlier edition was titled simply Hello It's Joe and contained a smaller page count. Republished by the author in 2020 as James D. Patalon Meets The Three Stooges.
