During much of the Chicago run of A NIGHT IN SPAIN at the 4 Cohan's Grand Opera House, Nov. 28, 1927 - Apr. 7, 1928, Ted & Betty Healy also starred in a nightclub act at the Hotel Sherman's College Inn. Apparently they would finish up each night's SPAIN performance at the Cohan, and rush to the College Inn for a late evening show. "The Playgoer," for all subject shows running in Chicago during this period, frequently carried advertisements for the Healys' song-&-dance act. The pictured magazine is from the week of March 26, 1928 issue for the play GOOD NEWS.
Healy's A NIGHT IN SPAIN stooges in Chicago were Shemp Howard, Sam 'Moody' Braun, Bobby Pinkus and Lou Warren. It is not believed that they made appearances with Ted & Betty at the College Inn. While it is possible, no documentation has turned up to support that.
