Footnotes:
The 1-page art school advertisement is for a correspondence course founded by Joe Kubert and Norman Maurer. Not successful, Kubert held onto the idea of a comic book art school, and in 1976 founded "The Joe Kubert School" in Dover NJ. Today, it is regarded as one of the finest schools for comic book and advertising artwork in the country. Among its scholarship programs is a Norman Maurer Memorial Award, awarded each year by Joan Howard Maurer and her brother Paul Howard.
Li'l Stooge stories in issues 4 and 5 are credited to Michael Brand and Jeff Michaels. These stories were actually written by Norm Maurer, and the credits are references to his and Joan's sons, Michael Maurer and Jeffrey [Maurer] Scott.
