Featuring Shemp Howard (Solo)
63 min. (Feature Film)
Carnival showmen Dave, Billy (Billy Gilbert) and Shemp (Shemp Howard), with their gorilla Barney, hit the road looking for a new show. They meet up with the wealthy Mr. Gardner (John Hamilton), his niece Joan, secretary Ralph Williams and chauffeur Maxie (Max Rosenbloom), whose sabotaged car has left them stranded on the roadside. Gardner is headed for his country estate to escape anonymous death threats, much to Joan's distress especially since she fled the estate several years earlier after her mother's suspicious death. The mystery deepens at the estate with an attack on Gardner, a glowering housekeeper, mysterious voices, and underground tunnels connecting the house to the family cemetery. Shemp hardly helps matters when he accidentally frees Barney from his cage.
Produced by Sam Katzman's Banner Productions for Monogram distribution.
Retitled as GHOST CRAZY when it was re-released by Astor Pictures in the early 1950s.
