Featuring Shemp Howard (Solo)
60 min. (Feature Film)
Scatter-brained investment broker Hugh Mansfield (Hugh Herbert) learns that he's losing money for his clients. And, his charitable contributions and bankrolling of the neighborhood kids' newspaper has drained half of his nephew's trust fund... a $10 million trust that must be paid off the next day on nephew's wedding day. Hoping to stay out of jail, Mansfield has himself committed to a sanitarium in hope that he can plead insanity. Mixups ensue when nephew John Mansfield is mistaken for his uncle, and escapes with a nurse into the hands of a couple gambling racketeers (Shemp Howard & Richard Lane), who hold him for a ransom that Hugh can't pay.
