Featuring Shemp Howard (Solo)
63 min. (Feature Film)
Singers Gabby Trent and Hope Holloway (Eve Arden and Jane Frazee) turn up on the doorstep of The Plantation, a local roadhouse nightclub, looking for a performing job. What they find is management closing up after threats from competing nightclub owner Charles Willoughby (Richard Lane) and his two bumbling thug stooges Jigsaw Kennedy and Benny the Bounce (Lon Chaney Jr. and Shemp Howard). Con Conway & His Texans and their singing group The Merry Macs show up, and join Gabby and Hope in a plan to reopen The Plantation under their new management. Jigsaw and Benny hire on as waiter and bartender, hoping to sabotage opening night.
