59 min. (Feature Film)
Law school graduates Clayton Russell (Forrest Tucker) and Lizbeth Ellsworth (Lynn Merrick) have their plans interrupted by the war, but on his return home they set up their new law firm, and hope to marry as soon as they can put $10,000 in the bank. Their friend, and former crook Alexander Pough (Gus Schilling), learns that the couple's mentor B. J. Calhoun (Thurston Hall) has been arrested for corporate embezzlement. Clay and Lynn convince B. J. to become their first client, and begin an investigation to prove that Calhoun's corporate counsel Robert Fluger was behind the crime and frame. Unknown to Pough, the loan shark that he and Mrs. Ellsworth (Cora Witherspoon) borrowed the bail money from actually works for Fluger, who arranges for his henchmen (Shemp Howard, Frank Sully, Ben Welden) to abduct and put the final nail in Calhoun's coffin.
