Featuring Joe Besser (Solo)
62.9 min. (Feature Film)
Joe Besser's autobiography, as well as studio promos of the film in trade magazines, indicate that Joe was cast as 'Art,' the next-door-neighbor. A different actor appears in that role, which obviously was recast. Joe Besser does not appear in the final cut of this film.
A young boy's dog is left behind with a neighbor when a Nevada family moves away to Los Angeles. Their 12-year-old son is heartbroken, and so is his dog Pete. Poorly treated by his new master, Pete runs away, determined to travel the 600 miles to find his young owner. This family film relates the dog's adventures with the strangers he meets in rural settings and towns along the way.
