The Shubert Bros.' A NIGHT IN SPAIN starring Ted Healy and Phil Baker was wrapping up its 4 month run in Chicago IL at the 4 Cohans Grand Opera House. Al Jolson was finishing up several weeks of substituting for Phil Baker, and the producers and cast were featured in this special broadcast honoring Jolson and his career.

A NIGHT IN SPAIN was very successful and ran January 1927 to December 1928, with May - November 1927 spent on Broadway.
Healy's stooges in early April 1928 were Shemp Howard (who was preparing to leave Healy for a several months-long solo opportunity), Larry Fine (joined the Healy troupe on March 24, to replace the soon-departing Shemp), Bobby Pinkus and Sam 'Moody' Braun (Ted's brother-in-law). It is possible that Ted's stooges participated in the broadcast, but that is not known for fact, so this listing is categorized as a solo for Healy.
