Missing Hit
After Larry knocks the Chinese cabinet in the air, the camera cuts to Moe and Curly, and Curly's holding his head as if he was hit by Moe, but they didn't show it.

Missing Part
After Mr. Morgan yells "My cabinet!, he runs up to Moe and starts strangling him. Then there's an abrupt cut to Moe and Larry stepping outside of the building. They didn't show how Moe got away from Mr. Morgan.

Number of Brushes
When the camera first shows Larry, he has fourbrushes in his mouth, then the camera cuts to the next angle and he suddenly only has twobrushes in his mouth.

Reappearing Hat
When the Stooges walk in their gown shop, they huddle and then walk up the three ladies in the shop as if they're going to do or say something to them, and Larry takes his hat off. Then the camera cuts to the next shot and suddenly, the Stooges haven't done or said anything to the ladies and Larry's hat is back on.

Visible Padding
You can tell there is padding inside the back of Curly's pants when Moe and Larry are pulling the roofing nails out of his behind.

Who Has the Scissors?
When Larry says to Moe "Very artistic, his hands are in front of him and he's holding scissors, but in the next shot, his hands are suddenly behind him and Moe is now holding his pair of scissors.

Broken eyepoking fingers

Meeting up with an old enemy
After the Stooges get into a fight with a man, he vows to get even with the Stooges if he ever sees them again. And sure enough, he meets them again later in the film and tries to get his revenge.

Team Stooge Comments: One of Moe's exaggerated tales, borrowed from an old Mack Sennett Studios story. Studio regulations and the particularly the actors' union would have prohibited such a situation. Director Del Lord and prop man Ray Hunt were well-prepared for the pastry fight.

Slippery Silks is one of those shorts which is just kind of something to watch. It's provides constant amusement but never a solid laugh. Other than a Three Stooges marathon, I don't think there's any reason for me to watch this one ever again.The opening with the Stooges as woodworkers is promising, but somewhat obvious and the boys never really spark. When they become fashion designers, I expected them to take off flying, but they never do. The boy's designs are fun and the fact that their silly dresses are a hit is amusing, these goings-on just never get nutty enough.I like that Chinese cabinet the boys effectively destroyed in the opening, though. Maybe I can get Moe, Larry, and Curly to make me a replica…Final Shemp's Final Word: 2 1/2 Pokes

The stooges in high society. A sure-fire formula for classic mayhem and Silks delivers big time.

This is a true four-poke classic. It contains everything the Stooges do best: insanity and destruction in a carpentry shop, ticking off Vernon Dent, and wrecking a "high-class jernt." It's also one of the greatest Dent performances; he shows how important the straight man is to a comedy act, and his smoldering anger really motivates the plot and keeps it going. Of course, along with Oliver Hardy, Bud Abbott, and George Burns, Vernon was one of the all-time greatest straight men in classic comedy. And unlike Stanley KubrickÃ¯¿½who chickened out at the end of "Dr. Strangelove", which was originally supposed to end with a pie fightÃ¯¿½the Stooges knew exactly what to with a table full of pastries!

Messy indignities inflicted on society women are a Stoogian staple and this film sets the bar for all that would follow. Yet the creampuff-throwing is, to me, not the most memorable aspect of this short: it's the destruction of the priceless Shang Hai Lee/Chow Mein Hi Lo cabinet and the many, many incidental gags and dialogue exhanges. Larry's octagonal bureau/outfit is Art Deco surrealism at its best, and the running gag of the spring-loaded glove is inventive. One of the definitive Stooge films of any period.

I enjoyed the fashion show scene the most! I love the Boys vs. High Society shorts! I also want a dresser like Larry designed; a triangle!

This short brings a steady stream of laughs. From the one-liners in the furniture shop ("Oh, aged in the wood") to the climactic creampuff fight, this one was a delight to watch. I especially love the model hand turned creampuff launcher. Vernon Dent is also a hoot as the indignant Mr. Morgan.

A little something for everybody here. Stooges start out at a lumber store: plenty of painful tools for Moe to torture Larry & Curly with. (He takes a two-by-four to the head that HAD to hurt, since it wasn't faked). A third of the way in, this switches to a high-fashion sendup as the boys take Paris by storm with their 'cabinetwear'. Also features a mini-fashion show segment and a cream pie fight! (Moe yanking Larry's head over the counter to get hit by pies is classic.) It's like a Stooge smorgasbord, plus Moe gets to twist people's noses with tightly-clamped scissors!! What more could you want in 17 minutes?!?
